The Northwest Coastal areas of the US typically have cloud cover nearly all the time; but was able to photograph the full moon (Supermoon do to it's closeness to the Earth). Another Supermoon will occur in the Northwest US on January 31, 2018. That one will include an eclipse. That occurs once a year or two.

There is substantial detail in the picture; craters, mountains, and numerous other characteristics that make the moon extraordinary.
