And the new year has arrived! For some, it came in several hours, for others at the end of a 10 seconds countdown, for others still, it was in the such and such thousandth part of a certain second.

And many people gathered to wave bye-bye to something that does not look back, and to welcome something that totally ignores being either awaited or unnoticed.

And such is the power of self-cheating, so necessary for our mental survival.
