Behind The Lens

Location

Inside a cafe in McKinney Texas

Time

It was early morning about 8:30am

Lighting

The lighting came from ceiling fans and holagen lights that lit the cafe.

Equipment

My camera is a canon t5i and my lens is a basic 18-55 kit lens.

Inspiration

I’m alway on the lookout for unusual or interesting patters and textures, when I saw the pencils coming together in the star pattern I was instantly drawn to it. I had to photograph it.

Editing

Well, I raised the contrast a slight bit. Then added a light feathered vignette to draw more attention to the center.

In my camera bag

I always have my bag with me, and I’ll have my t5i, 18-55 lens 75-300 telephoto lens and 85mm. I keep my shutter release, glass clothe and macro lens. Plus $20 and a snack for when Im hiking.

Feedback

Alway be aware of your surrounding and don’t be afraid to ask to take photos when you are out on a photo journey. I asked permission to take the photo, I had to stand on a bench that people were using to reach the shot. Even waited for them to leave, it was morning rush with lines. When something catches your eye, go for it and get the shot.
