This photo was taken on a very busy sidewalk near Queens Mall in NYC. I could not find a spot to park the car so I had to leave the car by a Fire-hydrant, and watch out for the Police while trying to compose the shot I wanted.
Time
Around 2:30PM.
Lighting
I used available light only. I did not feel the need for additional lighting on a well-lit rainy-and-cloudy afternoon.
Equipment
Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L, hand-held.
Inspiration
I love flowers and everything beautiful in nature, and I try to find them in common places too! When I saw this bucket of flowers in front of a small Statue on the sidewalk, I felt that I had to stop by for a quick shot or two. And since it rained earlier in the day, I felt I had every chance of getting a good shot.
Editing
All processing was done in Adobe Photoshop: tone, contrast, sharpness, vibrance, saturation, and brushed off some dirts and blemishes as well.
In my camera bag
One camera body (Canon EOS 5D Mark IV), several lenses (Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM, Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L USM, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM, Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM), external flash (Canon 600EX II-RT), ND filter, CP filter, WB filter, cleaning cloths, spray, batteries, memory cards, rain cover, etc.
Feedback
You do not always have to drive miles to get a great shot. Keep your creative minds open and be ready to capture something you like.
