Location
The picture was taken on the mainland side of the famous Menai bridge North Wales leading to AngleseyTime
The picture was taken during the winter, I’d been planning to have a shoot here for a while, the perfect conditions for the light trails darkness and rush hour.Lighting
Within minutes of me setting up, you know the saying “ you can wait for ages for a bus then 3 turn up at the same time” well he’s what, 3 turned up at the same time to cross the bridge and that was it, job done.Equipment
I was using a Canon 6d and a samyang 14mm f2.8, a good sturdy tripod and a shutter remote. One thing I was concerned about was the movement of bridge effecting my long exposure but as everything is moving at the same time it had no effect on the image .Inspiration
I love long exposure photography and nightscapes, so lighttrails fall straight into those categories.Editing
I shoot everything Raw so I usually open in photoshop, post-processing this image took around a minute, very little to do maybe adjust contrast and clarity, lift the shadows a little and done.In my camera bag
My main equipment I like to use the most a Canon 6d, samyang 14mm, Canon nifty fifty, Sigma 105mm macro and a lot of Lee filters and I also highly recommend SRB screw on filter if your on a budget.the Canon nifty fifty I don’t leave home without, for around £90 it’s a brilliant all round lens.Feedback
If I could give any advice it would be to practice practice practice, do your homework and don’t give up :)
