This photo was the best of all my street photography night shots of the 27th lighted parade in Silver City, New Mexico. This 1931 fire engine is a working part of history in our city and is loved by children of all ages who have at one time or another rode in it.

Since 1991, Main Street’s Lighted Christmas Parade kicks off the Silver City Holiday Season the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The parade is an impressive display of lighted floats and entries. The parade route begins at the Grant County Courthouse, proceeds down Broadway, and heads north on Bullard, ending at Gough Park. Following the parade there is an Awards Reception to honor the top entries in each category.
