Quite an old photo, but one of my best Extreme macros.
Habronattus coecatus group, Newly matured Adult Male, possibly H.c klauserii.
Even for jumping spiders, these guys are tiny, And Difficult to photograph because of the way they tend to move..
They also have similarities to the newly famous Maratus 'Peacock spider' of Australia, In that they have Very large 3rd legs. used specifically for courtship.. Though Maratus also have a modified Abdomen.
In this photo you can see those towering third legs. But the genus also has a further modified patella (Knee) on the 3rd leg which again is used in courtship.
MP-E 65mm 1-5x macro. If I remember correctly, this was taken at 9.5x using 1:1 converter.
