Location
This photo was taken on the rooftop of Shangri-la Hotel in DubaiTime
Between 7-8pmLighting
The rooftop view of Dubai cityscape is well lit with all the street and building lights. I have captured the actual glitters and lights of Dubai.Equipment
I used Nikon D7200 and Sigma 10-20mm. No flash was used. The shot was taken handheld , I have to rest my hand on the rails to be able to shoot downwards wirhoutcapturing the ledge.Inspiration
We were three photographers at that time at Level 42 rooftop of Shangri-la hotel. Both my companions were complaining about the building at the front blocking a clean view of Burj Khalifa. Instead of whining and complaining, I said to myself, why not make this building as my subject? And true enough, I was not disappointed. Who cares about Burj Khalifa?Editing
This is a single shot which I processed using Photoshop and Topaz plugin to get that HDR effect. In my camera bag
I have Olympus Omd E-M10 Mark ii with 14-42mm kit, the Nikon D7200 with my trusted 18-140mm kit, a 55-300mm Nikkor f/4.5-5.6 and a 50mm f1.8 lens.Feedback
I think it would have been better to use a clamp to steady the camera on the rail and also to be able to make a bracketed shots.
