“Avendasora” • I visited this tree four times as the richness of autumn set in. On the fourth visit, the soul of the Northwest joined me with a beautiful fog and I knew I had my shot. A Japanese maple captured in the full bloom of Autumn, its leaves are as red a the freshly painted lips of a women. So red they could be described as scarlet.

In one of my all-time favorite stories, Avendasora was the last tree of peace. Being near the tree lent one open to its effect a sense of solitude, calm, and tranquility. Across from this tree rests a bench- I must have sat there for eight hours across my four visits feeling....sated.
