Location
I took this picture in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria in 2017.Time
It was shot during sunset, and even though the lighting was not what I was going for, it worked pretty well with the scene.Lighting
During this sunset, everyone was shooting the other way, towards the actual sun setting. However, the best thing to do in that particular sunset, was to turn around and shoot this scene.Equipment
I used a Sony a7rii with a 25mm f2 lens.Inspiration
The scene. What is amazing about the particular photo, is that nothing was set up and planned. Not from my end anyway! I was there shooting with my girlfriend, and then I suddenly saw these to walk down the sand dunes with another photographer. And then without ruining the photographer`s shot, I took the opportunity to capture this scene as well. But I never found out who the couple was, so I would love one day to find them and give them this picture!Editing
I did edit this in lightroom, but only exposure and colours, and some simple retouching in the sand.In my camera bag
I live by the "law" that if you can bring it, you should! So I normally bring a lot of gear in my bag. But my absolutely essentials are my main camera, a 70-200 2.8, a 2x converter, a 25mm F2, my tripod and a lot of extra batteries and SD cards!Feedback
Always bring your camera, and always keep it ready! There has been so many times I did not expect capturing something amazing, but by simply having my camera ready, I have a lot great memories in my portfolio. One example is this exact photo, another example is when I witnessed a massive avalanche close to a city, while talking to my camera so I captured it with video, but also with photos because I had another camera on me ready. Make the extra effort and bring your camera with you, even though you probably won`t even use it!
