Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at El Cañón de Guadalupe in Mexicali. I am 90% self taught. This was my fist time taking photos at night, i had to experiment a lot it was a new lesson for me.

Time

This was my first time taking photos at night at it turn out better than I expected. I remember taking this photo alone in the dark with a little bit of fear that maybe and insect could appear or a tarantula but it was totally worth it. Lucky for me i didn't forget my tripod, it was very useful, a total life saver. Since it was my first time taking photos at night and at the stars, i had to calculate how slow my shutter speed had to be and i decided to be a little bit creative used my cell phone light and started to move it around. It was a great experience. This was taken on 11/11/2017 at 8:08PM.

Lighting

I had a little bit of light in the back from the camp.

Equipment

I shot this photo with a Canon t3i, with an 28-135mm lens, a tripod wich is VERY important and a flash light.

Inspiration

I have always wanted to take photos at the stars, but it was really difficult because the farther you are from the city, the more you can see the stars and for me it's a little bit difficult to travel. My family suprised me with the news that we were going camping for spring break far away from the city and i knew i had to try and take those kind of pictures.

Editing

I think landscape photography requires some processing. In this case, the white balance, dark, lighten, saturation, brightness and clarity.

In my camera bag

The lenses that i use the most are 18-55mm and 28-135mm i take them wherever i go.

Feedback

"Jump first, fear later" Experiment again and again and again, you never know what amazing photos you could capture. Never give up, be patient. It's very important that you have an tripod.
