We spent a week in a small boat seeing the charms of the Inside Passage of Alaska and as much as possible between Juneau and getting there. Icebergs calved off the glaciers as we watched.
An iceberg (also known as ice mountain) is a large piece of freshwater ice that has broken off a glacier or ice shelf and is floating in open water. It may become frozen into pack ice. Almost 90% of an iceberg is below the surface of the water. (Info from Wikipedia)
