Location
This photo was taken in Miami, FL. The exact location I have kept hidden as there aren't too many mysterious spots in Miami nature/landscape photography.Time
This was a sunset in early early spring.Lighting
While humidity in Miami often leaves intense pinks and purples and cloud filled sky, which was my hope, the uniquely clear skies left a bit of a silhouette opportunity and the trajectory of the sun hitting the lone buildings set up the perfect sunstar.Equipment
Nikon D750, Manfrotto Tripod, Nikkor 24-120mm f/4 lens @f/22Inspiration
This tree was actually found while out looking for an earlier shot on a previous day. I knew that I had to come back to photograph the tree as it is unique to find this composition in Miami even though there are often many mangroves in the water (this is not a mangrove). While nearby are some amazing sunset views, this is facing the other direction, thus likely not photographed frequently. While I had hoped the tide would be higher, the clear sky let a sunburst develop and was quite a treat.Editing
This photo had minimal post-processing other than minor touch ups, white balance and a small composition crop.In my camera bag
NikonD750, Nikkor 14-24mm, Nikkor 24-120mm, Nikkor 50mm, Tiffen filters (ND and Circular Polarizer), Manfrotto Tripod.Feedback
One of the greatest difficulties I find in the city is to find unique perspectives. When you are out and see that composition that is unique, make sure to take that extra initiative to return and get that capture.
