Location
I took this photo in a wood near my living place (Lyon).Time
Simply at the morning, during a beautiful humid fall morning (at 09.40 am of November to be more precise). :)Lighting
Because it was a wetty morning, I tried to show that in my picture. After a few tests, I've clearly seen the possibility to play with all this dew to create nice bokeh. At this point I was looking for a subject and it was clear for me that I wanted to find some mushrooms...it was the season of. When I found it, I tried to create a special atmosphere with the subject and the bokeh...something like flashes from a public because the mushroom is the star. Thanks to the humidity and to the light of this season which is softer and colder that a summer or afternoon one.Equipment
My favorite couple : - Canon EOS 80D - Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USMInspiration
Ow. A lot of pictures from good photographers I can see on the social networks like Viewbug or Facebook pages clearly inspired me. I don't think I can say that I'm doing it without any goals...for example if a cool picture inspired me, I'll try to know how the photo was taken to be able to (in a first time) reproduce it and after that, appropriate what I learned for my own pictures. And here, I saw a lot of nice pictures of this season with nice compositions around mushrooms and I wanted to have my own one.Editing
Yes, a bit of post-processing has been made but contrary to my first photos, I'm now trying not to make too many post-precessing to limit myself to the basic parameters. This forces me to really work on my composition from the moment I shoot, which is a good challenge. So here there has been a bit of classic post-processing under Lightroom: cropping, white balance, accentuating some of the bokeh effects that were light, sharpening the sharpness and that's about it.In my camera bag
I always have my EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM because I always use it for the style of photos I like ; the proxy and macro photography. And now I can add my new Canon lens : Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM. But I like to pack my Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM simply because between the moment I leave my car and the moment I'm at the place I wanted to be, I walk and during this time I often see beautiful landscapes around me. I also always have my Tripod (ALTA PRO 263AB 100) which is useful when I need stability.Feedback
I'll right the same feedback I always give which are : - Open your eyes and observe a lot around you. - Try to imagine how the light and its reflection could help you in the construction of your image and in the emphasis of the subject. - Dont' forget the background when you find your subject. It will add shapes, shadows, colors in your image and help in the composition. - Be at the height of you subject, it gives good point of view and help your composition. - Look for inspiration, observe what people you follow are doing and how are they doing this little thing you like in the picture. - Enjoy your trip, even if you come back with nothing in your camera, you had a great time and you exerciced yourself.
