The Santa Fe Land Iguana lives only on the 9.3 square mile Santa Fe Island, Their main plant diet is the islands prickly-pear cactus, though some have been discovered eating insects and carrion. The species is considered vulnerable due to its tiny geographical distribution. The eradication of feral goats in 1971 has helped the species to survive. They can weigh up to 25 pounds and their color helps them blend into the surroundings.
