Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at the Mugello racetrack (Ferrari circuit) during the 2017 Ferrari Chakllenger

Time

It was about one o'clock in the afternoon when I entered the shed where all the Ferrari of Formula one of the past and present years were enclosed.

Lighting

Nothing special in terms of lighting. I used the natural one (amply enough in the shed where they were exposed)

Equipment

The photo was taken freehand with my Nikon D5 equipped with the Nikon 7-200 on the focal 200. Diaphragm f13 1/125 iso 2000 spot light.

Inspiration

The inspiration came from seeing so many Ferraris lined up in front of me. I tried the right angle to align the Santander lettering as much as possible to create a nice visual effect. Diaphragm closed enough to be able to focus all the cars in the frame.

Editing

I did not post production except for the normal development of the raw file

In my camera bag

Now (February 2018) it is my habit to bring my two Nikon camera bodies (D5 and D850) in the backpack as well as the Nikon triad composed of 14-24; 24-70; 70-200. I also always have the Nikon 2x focal duplicator and the Nikon 85 f1.4 for portraiture use.

Feedback

Like any photo that attracts attention, I always try to have references that capture the eye of the observer. In addition to the charm of many Ferraris all together, the composition is very important. I then tried to align (moving sideways) as much as possible the particle that gave geometry to the photo, in this case, is represented by the rear headrest of the car and (mainly) by the writing Santander.
