Behind The Lens

Location

My home and property in Arizona...these were the playgrounds for my self portraiture. This set of photos taken in my back patio.

Time

It was from 1-4PM...a temperate day that allowed four working outside in Arizona.

Lighting

I used my favorite free light source.. .the sun. This patio was the best for shooting photos in the constantly changing afternoon light. The patio was covered but the sun reflected off the interior stucco.

Equipment

My Canon, a tripod and props (a sheet, fountain, a bronze vessel and a potted plant).

Inspiration

I loved this fountain and desired to capture it in a moody scene. I was reading art history books and was drawn to the romanticism of images I saw with bathing and linen washing scenes.

Editing

Yes, I used a post processing app with a blue filter...also, photo clean up, and dodging/burning techniques in PS.

In my camera bag

My Canon, a tripod, a reflector, a small light source and a cell phone camera.

Feedback

Creating is play...it can be serious play, at times...but the essence should always be learning through play and being open to the process.
