Behind The Lens

Location

Pollock Pines California

Time

Mid afternoon

Lighting

It was a overcast day so the light was diffused. This means that shot is not using light and shadow to create the high contrast.

Equipment

Phone (Galaxy Note 4)

Inspiration

I like landscapes and I was out and about that day. Snow pictures are a great way to test if you can compose in black and white with out the filter. I think I liked how those two tree were parallel moving away in a different direction from all the other trees. The action lines work with the road to move your eye through the image.

Editing

Some times I play with filter. I really like more saturated images, But in this case I don't think I did much if anything.

In my camera bag

A phone.

Feedback

The thing I love most about photography as a medium is it is ephemeral. You are capturing a moment in time and no moment will ever be the same. So when I want to shoot something it usually has a particular compulsion. I guess what I am trying to say is: if you feel like taking a picture do it. Also, take a lot and choose the best ones.
