This picture was taken after I spent 5 days sitting with my dad in the Critical Care Unit of a Veterans’ Administration hospital. I was so upset over his treatment, or lack thereof, that I took this picture on the way home in an attempt to capture the face of weariness, frustration, anger and grief.

Despite what the media may tell you, the treatment of our American veterans, especially in the health care system, is appalling and disgraceful.
