Behind The Lens

Location
This photo was taken at the Toronto Zoo in Ontario Canada. I was a parent volunteer on a school trip for my younger son and we were walking around looking at exhibits when this Peacock walked out in front of us and I just grabbed my camera and starting taking pics before this beautiful bird walked away.
Time
The photo was taken mid-day during the early summer months, wonderful warm day with no rain or wind.
Lighting
The lighting was simply sunlight. The shot was taken in front of the reptile exhibit out in the open.
Equipment
The only equipment used for this shot was my Nikon D3300 with a AF Nikkor 70-300mm 1:4-5.6G Nikon Lens
Inspiration
I wanted to capture some memories of this school trip with my son and since we both love nature and animals I thought taking my camera would be a great way to preserve the experience. I just wanted to take some shots of some exotic animals and I ended up with some pictures that were better than I had thought they would be.
Editing
I did do some touch-ups with a photo editing product to sharpen and brighten up the image
In my camera bag
Nikon D3300 and a few lenses, ( 55-300mm DX VR ED, Nikon AF 70-300mm but I use the manual focus on this lens as my camera doesn't support the AF function, and a 18-55mm DX VR, and a Speed Light, and extra batteries and an extra memory card in case I cant control myself and go trigger happy on the shooting button.
Feedback
Don't ever give up or get disappointed. If you have a passion for beautiful pictures you will achieve your goals. pro's take great pics most of the time but, us hobbyists get lucky once in a while and get some awesome captures.
