The tradition in Louisiana with it's rich music heritage and blending with Catholicism, have birthed the Jazz Funeral. This gentleman stands before a pair of horses hitched to a funeral carriage. It will meander through the streets of the historic French Quarter followed by brass bands and mourners... filled with a mix of joy for a well-lived life and a sorrow that the dead will be sorely missed by all. This scene was from Pete Fountain's Jazz funeral. I have no doubt, soon one will be announced for legendary Fats Domino~my favorite musician of this century with decades of songs that I have listened & danced to for oh so very long. A treasure to the world was Fats Domino.
