The koala is an arboreal herbivorous mammal. A marsupial (pouched mammal), and native to Australia. Koala lives in forests of eucalyptus trees. Since eucalypt leaves have a high water content, the koala does not need to drink often. They are sedentary animals that sleep up to 20 hours a day and predominantly active at night .
