Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Alberta, Canada close to Waterton Lakes National Park. I spotted it as I hiked over a ridge with some friends and watched it and waited for the perfect moment to capture the shot. I guess I found it!

Time

I had woken up at 5:30 and set out on my own, but with no luck so I returned to camp and had breakfast with my friends. (Bacon and eggs if you must know). We then set out on a hike and as I said before, I spotted this majestic creature.

Lighting

I recommend taking photos at dawn and duck- that's when you'll get the moodiest lighting. I took my photo just after dawn.

Equipment

I used a Nikon Coolpix P900 camera.

Inspiration

I was inspired to take this photo by my love of animals. The brilliance of the creatures surrounding us is astonishing. Bears have always had a place in my heart and this shot was a huge milestone for me

Editing

No post processing

In my camera bag

I have my camera- Nikon P900 and a tripod and of course, a sandwich or a bag of crisps.

Feedback

I would recommend researching on where the bear sightings are most concentrated, or any other animal you want to capture a photo of. I spent a long time researching before deciding on Alberta, Canada. Extra Tip: Take some friends with you! The long stake-outs won't seem that long when you've got company to talk to.
