Behind The Lens
Location
Whilst visiting my parents house in Birmingham U.K. I decided to play around with my GoPro in their back garden with Baxter, my West Highland White Terrier. We found a hole in the lawn, I set the camera to time-lapse mode and placed it inside. I then continually threw treats towards the hole to attract Baxter's attention. Of the 300 or so images that were taken this was the standout shot.Time
It was taken on Sunday 8th May 2016 at around 2pmLighting
To ensure that Baxter's face wasn't blown out by the bright sky behind him, I placed an LED ring light inside the hole for an accurate exposure.Equipment
GoPro Hero 4 Silver, LED ring lightInspiration
I was curious to see how good a GoPro could be for stills photography and wanted to take advantage of its wide field of view and small physical size.Editing
The shot was edited in Adobe Lightroom 5. With adjustments made to colour, contrast, clarity and saturation. In my camera bag
Canon EOS 6D and various EF L series lenses.Feedback
Plenty of patience and treats! Also try to make the shoot as fun and engaging as possible for your dog.
