Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at the beach in Brunswick Heads, Nsw in Australia. I was traveling in Australia in a van by myself and ended up spending about 5 months in Bruns after falling in love with the place. I think this photo really shows the peacefulness and beauty of the that awesome little town.

Time

The photo was taken just before the sun disappeared below the horizon.

Lighting

I've always liked photos of silhouettes and I thought the light was just right to capture the person's outline and to still be able to see a bit of details a colors around the subject.

Equipment

I used a pentax ks2. I dont remember which lens I used for that shot.

Inspiration

The light was just beautiful that evening and the clouds looked different than any other day. I saw a few people walk into the light and loved the visual effect so I decided to capture that moment.

Editing

I did minimal processing. Increased the clarity and brightened or darkened some areas.

In my camera bag

My pentax ks2 with the kit lens 18-50 and a zoom lens I found in a thrift store.

Feedback

Just look around you and have your camera with you as often as you can. There's always beauty to shoot everywhere and you have to be ready to capture it when the light is just right.
