Bottom and cliff walls of Canyon de Chelly. the Canyon is actually two tribtary canyons that have cut down through a very thick sandstone formation called Navajo Sandstone (more info attached to other photos).
The silvery trees are Russian Olive, an invasive species from southern-central Asia. It was introduced as a drought-resistant ornamental, and now displaces native trees.
