Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park, Canada

This area of the park is the classic view of Mount Assiniboine (the pointy one left-of-center) and the surrounding area. Such a majestic land. Being here filled me with a wonderful feeling of joy and a new sense of awe of nature.

I watched an afternoon storm front pass and reveal blue skies. But just before sunset new clouds formed and rolled in over the mountains. The whole sky lit up red. (I have photos taken from that time, but I think the color was too intense for this scene)

I had packed up my bag and began the hike out, but noticed some strange clouds brewing over the ridge. I had little time, grabbed my camera and tripod (left my bag) and ran up the slope to this spot, which I had been photographing earlier in the afternoon. I had about 2 minutes to photograph the ambient post-sunset-glow illuminating the clouds, which was reflecting subtle light just about everywhere.
