Taken by Jackson Lake in Grand Teton National. The road that leads to the South Gate of Yellowstone has a pullout that offers a great view of Jackson Lake and the Teton Range viewing south.
Time
This image was taken about 2-3am
Lighting
The lighting conditions for the picture was perfect. A new moon and perfect dark sky conditions.
Equipment
Nikon D800, Rokinon 14mm F1.4 and a tripod
Inspiration
I am a big fan of Milky Way photography. The Tetons are really a majestic mountain range. These two combinations I know would be excellent composition.
Editing
Post editing was done in Lightroom. Most bringing out the shadows, adding a bit of sharpness and clarity and finding the proper white balance.
Be patient. Plan ahead your shot using TPE app to plan where the Milky Way willl be at a certain time and at a certain location. If possible do some day scouting and use an AR app such as starwalk to see where the Milky Way will be at night also from your location.
