Location
This images was taken in Bodie California, a ghost town in the Sierra Nevada’s. My husband and I were were given a tip to go check it out.Time
The image was taken in the late morning, it was blazing hot that day!Lighting
The lighting was all natural, I was fortunate it was such a sunny day out.Equipment
I used my nikon D610 full frame camera and I believe a sigma 18-250 lens.Inspiration
I love decaying buildings and this had it all, bits of furniture, even the kitchen looked like the previous owner just walked away and left everything.Editing
I did make tonal changes in the image but I don’t remove anything. In my camera bag
Now my bag is packed with the same camera but my lenses have gotten better. 24-70 2.8 nikon, a nifty 50, a must have, my sigma 18-250 and a sigma 35mm art lens. It weighs a ton but my husband helps haul it around.Feedback
Take the time to really picture how you want your image to look and don’t rush the shot. Try different angles, different corners of the room to get exactly what you want. And most of all don’t be timid!
