Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken in a park near my house. They put on an annual car show and I was down there playing with cameras!Time
This was shot very close to mid-day, the sun was very high in the skyLighting
There were no clouds to speak of and the sun was very high, so lighting was a bit harsh. It did make for a few interesting flares in strange places though...Equipment
This was shot hand-held with a Canon 70D and Rokinon fisheye lens. I had several lenses with me and was playing with several different compositions.Inspiration
It was a nice summer day, who could resist taking shots of cool cars? :-)Editing
Since the shot was already distorted from the Fisheye lens, I went a bit crazy in LightRoom :-) I popped the colors pretty heavily, and added quite a bit of vignetting. In my camera bag
I normally carry a Canon 70D with a Tamron 16/300mm mounted and a 5D Mk III with any number of lenses ranging from a 8mm diagonal fisheye to a Sigma 200-500mm telephoto, depending on what I'll be shooting. I'm usually looking for cool things at random while traveling, so I don't get to plan a lot of shots beforehand - I've found I spend the most time with various prime lenses and the 17-300mm Tamron though, the Tamron's range lets you capture almost anything on the fly and reduces the need for lens changes out in the openFeedback
Don't be afraid to play with different lenses and compositions! Find something interesting about the subject and try focusing the viewer's attention there. If you're using a Fisheye or other extremely wide-angle lens don't be afraid to get right on top of your main subject - the wide lens will still get everything else in!
