This was taken on a beautiful day in a Japanese garden located in Missouri. The creature here is not a Monarch butterfly. Monarch larvae feed off of poisonous Milkweed plants. Successfully using this food source in turn makes the Monarch poisonous to predators. This creature is camouflaging itself as a Monarch to ward off predators.
