Behind The Lens

Location

Taken at Central Pier on Blackpool promenade in the UK with my drone.

Time

Shot just before sunset on a summers evening.

Lighting

I love the way the setting sun illuminates the pier and casts shadows across the sand.

Equipment

Shot with my trusty DJI phantom drone with a ND filter attached.

Inspiration

I love to shoot sunsets at the beach. The pier is a favourite location of mine because of the array of bright colours on all of the rides. A great contrast to the surrounding beach.

Editing

The image is the result of 5 AEB shots. Merged and edited in lightroom.

In my camera bag

As an amateur I have 2 pieces of equipment. My drone and my Samsung Galaxy 8+

Feedback

When taking aerial shots the most important thing to do is abide by the flight regulations. Time your flight to ensure you are in the right place at the right time particularly when looking for the best sunset.
