Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in rural Alberta around the Bashaw area.

Time

This was taken around 4-5 pm

Lighting

There were wild fires burning in the Banff/Jasper national park that year, so the sun had a beautiful orange glow to it and the clouds were grey coloured due to the fires.

Equipment

I used my IPhone 5 I believe as now I have a 7 plus, never did have the 6

Inspiration

It was a breath taking view as we drove down the highway. The sun's colour vs the grey clouds and the warm glow it made on the ground.

Editing

I always use snapseed to straighten if needed and do any minor adjustments. On this picture I would have sharpened the picture slightly and bumped up the contrast to get the colours closer to what my eye saw.

In my camera bag

Iphone only. With macro lens attachments

Feedback

For this picture I did not have my tripod. Now my tripod sits in the trunk of my car for these types of shots. I know I took alot of hand held shots at different angles trying to get the sun to stand out more. I went into the ditch and crouched down low to get the field in there. Passers by probably thought I was going to the bathroom! Lol Carry tripod or have it handy, do different angles. Straight on, crouched down, etc to see which one looks the best at the end. Keep clicking.
