It was an overcast day after some rain; the light was behind meEquipment
Canon 1100D ,lens was Canon EFS 55-250mm with extension tubes 1&2 added between the lens and body I used a tripod .. no flash was usedInspiration
this Gardenia plant had struggled with a very hot summer .. it had rained and our automatic sprinkler system had also been on .. I noticed this beautiful bud starting to open .. the rain drops and perfectly formed creamy petals attracted me to the shot ..Editing
the shot had minimal post - processing .. some adjustment to highlights , shade and contrast ..In my camera bag
A Canon 1100D with a Canon EFS 18-55 mm and a Canon EFS 55-250 mm lens a set of extension tubes .. a Canon 500D close up lens/filter which I usually use added to the front of the EFS 55-250mm lens .. a graduated ND filter .. and an ND fader .. a circular Polerizing filter .. and UV filters to protect both lenses .. lens cleaning cloths .. filter case .. a remote shutter release .. and a tripod as wellFeedback
The light is so important .. the soft lighting on the day helped with this shot .. I took a series of shots of various shutter speeds and ISO settings .. as the extension tube created a disconnect between the lens and camera the focus was manually done .. a tripod was essential to reduce movement .. the shot posted had an ISO of 100 and a shutter speed of 1/25 secs As a novice amateur photographer I find gathering as much information about the type of image you want to produce is a step to improving technique .. I read widely on various genres of photography and network with other ViewBug members for advice and information
