Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ during the "Heritage" flight annual event. "Old timers" fly in formation with the latest and greatest jets.

Time

This was fairly early in the AM as one can see from the shadows. This was facing south.

Lighting

The shadow play from the early morning sun was just perfect.

Equipment

Canon 6D - Handheld Aperture f/6.3?ISO 100?Shutter 1/250?Focal Length 435/1 (Sigma 600mm)

Inspiration

I just thought it was something one doesn't get to see to often anymore as prop military planes on a runway are no longer very common. The lineup was so neat as well.

Editing

Very little if any post processing was done. Just a little temperature adjustment to add a little punch to the colors.

In my camera bag

I have a "wheelie" bag with an assortment of lenses, batteries and additional accessories such as filters and of course some tools (just in case). Lenses range from my original canon 1.8 "nifty fifty to a 26-70, as well as a 70mm prime. And extra lenses separately when needed are my Sigmas (70-200 and 150-600 along with a 2x extender)

Feedback

Be at the right place at the right time and of course have your camera ready always. You never know when opportunity strikes. I was fortunate enough to get invited to this particular event via the "Honorary Base Commander", who also happens to be a good friend of mine.
