Location
This image was taken on the Grand Canal in Venice Italy. My first visit to Venice.Time
I was on a tour that featured a night time cruise down the Grand Canal. I was so dazzled by the array of lights and their reflections that I needed to capture that vision. I didn't have use of a tripod so the shot was a challenge while riding in a moving boat.Lighting
It was a challenge to capture what I saw with my eyes. I felt that the image was an excellent representation of what I viewed.Equipment
Camera was a Canon 5D MKIII with a 16-35mm f2.8 Canon lens with image stabilizer. Was not able to use tripod.Inspiration
The awesome reflections from all the colored lights.Editing
Added sharpening and added warmer tones to the lights. Also used noise reduction to the whole image. In my camera bag
As this was traveling out of the country with luggage limitations, I kept things simple. Camera, 2 lenses (16-35mm & 24-105mm) and a light weight carbon fiber tripod. Also 4-6 Extreme Pro CF cards each on 32GsFeedback
Just be patient for the right moment to come along and brace your camera as well as you can when you can't use a tripod.
