Great image! Great colours! I photograph wild horses mostly in the US ... particularly in Nevada. There are so many beautiful horses .... which I could adopt the ones round up by the BLM.

Horses that live in an untamed state but have ancestors that have been domesticated are not truly "wild" horses, they are feral horses. Even though these are often referred to as "wild" horses, they are not truly "wild" in the biological sense of having no domesticated ancestors. For instance, when the Spanish reintroduced the horse to the Americas, beginning in the late 15th century, some horses escaped, forming feral herds. The best-known of these are the mustangs of the western United States.
They roam huge tracts of land in Colorado and other states which are under the management of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). They travel in small herds or family groups of as little as three animals.
