Did a session of portraits with Daniel Andersson. Went through some styles and emotions.

Vixen van der Zee beautiful by the pool. Natural light during golden hour-s in Swedish summer. During winter we have “golden minutes”.

Me and my wonderful muse Vixen created some street fashion, vintage doc martens and jeans was the main theme.

Met up with Vixen and we had a spontaneous day shooting some awesome street fashion together.

Behind The Lens

Location

A small island in the west coast archipelago of Sweden. A tiny private beach and personal paradise.

Time

Afternoon in hard sunlight

Lighting

For this occasion we used only the sun and sun reflecting in beach and water. I like the natural feeling it gives with hard shadows and hard light, it's a bit tricky to get it where I want it, but I like the challenge.

Equipment

Canon 5Dii 24-70L 2.8 handheld as most of my people shots are, unless it's product pictures or portraits.

Inspiration

The model, Vixen van der Zee and the beautiful scenery.

Editing

Always set basics in ACR and then follow up in PS for retouching. Top layers consists of tone adjustment layers.

In my camera bag

Canon 5Div, 24-70L2.8, 100L2.8macro or 50mm1.4 a speedlight and radio transmitter. Memory cards and extra batteries.

Feedback

Don’t be afraid of hard sunlight. Pick a low shooting angle. With water in the picture I normally detest tilted horizons.
