In Greek mythology, Narcissus was a hunter from Thespiae in Boeotia who was known for his beauty. He was proud, in that he disdained those who loved him. Nemesis noticed this behavior and attracted Narcissus to a pool, where he saw his own reflection in the water & fell in love with it, not realizing it was merely an image. Unable to leave the beauty of his reflection, Narcissus lost his will to live. (Ovid, Metamorphoses Book III)
About this capture, I turned it upside down so that the beauty of this landscape will provoke an irresistible & intense attraction, ready to seduce anybody focus on it. Narcissus lost the sense of reality & his tainted viewpoint was blinded to see the marks of his imperfection. In our days a prophecy foretold that men will be lovers of themselves (selfish, self-centered)…arrogant …ungrateful…having no natural affection…something that are reflecting on our external & internal relationships & most of all, affecting our Home - our amazing planet.
