Photoshoot for this fashion blogger "Cuelate en mi vestidor".
She wanted to have a portray of her on a city environment. I remembered she told me she takes the metro everyday on downtown to go to the University, so i thought it would be an appropriate location for her.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Plaza de los Luceros Tram Station. This is located in Alicante, Spain. I usually take the train to go to work in downtown and this Station has a very metallic feel, so I thought that this location would be perfect for this contest.

Time

This station is quite busy in labor days, so we went on Sunday morning, so we could isolate the model in front of an clean background.

Lighting

This location was well lighted with fluorescent, led lights, etc, so there was no need of flashes. Instead of speedlight I decided yo have a higher ISO (800) and make it simple. Afterwords I removed noise in post.

Equipment

This picture was taken with the Nikon D800 and a 35mm 1.4 lens. This kind of aperture let me take the shot with no flash (just increasing a little bit the ISO). I did not have a tripod nor flash on set. I decide to keep it simple so we could move fast, just in case commuters showed up.

Inspiration

We were working on a fashion post for an influencer´s blog. She got some outfits she wanted to talk about in her blog, so I searched for locations that would fit well with the clothing.

Editing

I used Denoise plugin in Photoshop. And little of curves to control contrast. Nothing else other than that.

In my camera bag

I recently switched to Sony system, so what I have at this time is a Sony Alpha A7RIII and a Carl Zeiss 35mm 1.4 lens. I also have a variable ND filter. I also have a Godox AD200pro with some modifiers for outdoors lighting.

Feedback

As I say to my students... Just think about what you want to achieve and go for it. Learn, find the tricks you want to apply and practice until you get your idea done.
