One of the things I love about Bear Rocks preserve at the eastern edge of the Dolly Sods wilderness is all the weather beaten rocks. I originally took this image because of a small mountain laurel plant in the front center of the image. However, the comp just didn't work so converting the image to black and white de-emphasized the flowers and green and instead accentuated the rocks and weather beaten textures. I really like the moody feel of this image.
