Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Embudo, New Mexico.

Time

I was heading home after a conference and noticed the Classical Gas Museum on the side of the road. It was midday, so I knew the light would be harsh but felt that would only enhance the "vintage" look.

Lighting

Even with the time of day, the exposure was not a problem.

Equipment

Canon EOS 70D, 18-200mm tamron lens, no tripod.

Inspiration

As I drove by, I noticed the old race car setting next to the old gas pumps just waiting for a fill-up. I had to turn around and do some exploring!

Editing

This was a straight forward exposure; no post-processing except a little sharpening.

In my camera bag

Canon EOS 70D, Canon 18-135mm, Canon 55-250mm.

Feedback

When you travel, whether for work or for fun, set aside time so you can enjoy surprises like Embudo NM.
