So much to love about this -- the fog, the sharpness of the sheep, the perfect alignment, the one black face. Awesome

Behind The Lens

Location
I took this photo near Dorchester in Dorset at Frome Witcoombe.
Time
It was a foggy morning
Lighting
The day had begun and the fog was thick, this created the surreal atmosphere. The town of Dorchester would be apparent in the background if it wasn’t for the fog. I hopped over the farm gate and into the meadow as I walked towards the trees the sheep started appearing out of the mist watching my every move. The air was so still and the light was perfect.
Equipment
I was carrying with me a Kodak digital camera set on a tripod with the settings already adjusted to take 3 bracketed shots. The beeps omitted from the camera really held the sheep’s attention.
Inspiration
I had been to this meadow before to take photographs of the trees in the snow I had not intended to photograph the farm animals however all the right circumstances came together and the results were very rewarding.
Editing
I had intended to blend the bracketed images, however the camera had captured the scene perfectly all I had to do was add a few adjustments using adobe lightroom
In my camera bag
I normally carry a Sony a6000 as it is light and fits in my hand luggage better when I am travelling.
Feedback
The experience has taught me that foggy conditions should be welcomed as they can give the impression of solitude by eliminating the sometimes distracting backgrounds.
