Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the patio of the Royal Kona Resort, Kailua-Kona Hawaii

Time

This was taken at ~1830 hrs. in a rush as I had to go get my camera and tri-pod . I took many images and all came out like this, so it was hard to select which photo to use.

Lighting

Had to get my camera gear and this and other shots were done in a hurry as the sun waits for no one. Just love this time of day in Hawaii, looking for the green flash, however since there were clouds the flash did not happen

Equipment

I used a Canon Rebel T3i with a 18-135 mm zoom lens set at 19mm on a tri-pod .

Inspiration

This was, as was stated, a rush job as we were eating dinner at Don the Beach Combers when the opportunity presented itself.

Editing

I used an Aurora HDR program just to bring out the foreground as they were very dark.

In my camera bag

I usually carry a Canon camera and try-pod with me. I have a collection of Canon lens's with with me 18-135 zoom and some prime lens 35mm, 50mm , 85 and 135 but when taking this shot the 18-135mm was on the camera.

Feedback

Since my wife is from Hawaii, the big island, and we lived there for awhile I have had many opportunities to take all the sunset and sunrise, on the Hilo side of the island, that I wish. Just take any images of the area that your in that please you .
