Location
I took this photo in Portugal, near Arganil.Time
It was about 4 pm on a very hot summers day, we were happy to find this cool oasis with ice cold water.Lighting
Light in the forest is wonderfully filtered by the trees, it offers you a great opportunity to take lovely photos with the most fantstic light! Warm colors, great detail and no heavy shadows or burned out light spots...Equipment
I didn't use any equipment other then my wonderful little Lumix DMC-TZ100.Inspiration
I was walking a trail with a few other hobby photographers on a very hot summers day. We were quite happy to enter a forest on a mountain to find some shadow. After a while we saw a little stream and followed it uphill. At the end, or better the beginning of the stream we found this wonderful ice cold waterfall... The light was fantastic, the sunlight was filtered by the trees and the presence of water made this part of the forest shine with vibrant green colors.Editing
This photo is mostly natural, I used Lightroom to edit very small details and cropped the photo. In my camera bag
I don't have any equipment in my bag (yet) I am a beginning photographer and I am learning to use a camera, to look for the good light, composition and point of view. One day when I know how to use and set the camera well enough, I will start to think about a bag filled with technical things instead of the need to understand...Feedback
To capture an image like this is very simple, just look around you and enjoy the beautiful world we are living in, see what is allready there to be seen. When I walk through a forest or anywhere else, I allways look around me very carefully to see the details of wich the world around me is build up. If you look at a subject to photograph, you have to try to realise what you want to achieve, Try to find the good light, the right point of view and the best composition... And most of all, take more shots with slightly different settings so you can choose the best one, once you got home and opened your laptop, the magic of today's world begins... I allways crop it later into the size and composition I like best. Crop the photo in different ways, so you can choose the best one the next day when you can have a fresh look at them!
