Across the Barrens

Taking a midnight hike with all your camera gear, tripods-light stands and lighting to setup and hope the picture turns out. For this image we setup the low level light shining over the marshland in the Torrance Barrens as the Milky Way glimmered nicely above. I also used an Ultra high contrast (UHC) Astro filter to help cuts down much of the light pollution which is great for an area like the Torrance Barrens. In the Barrens the light pollution in the southern sky and more has unfortunately gotten very bad over the past years which is the main direction we point for the galactic core of the Milky Way. I look forward to trying this filter in other areas if the skies will cooperate.

Sony a7s (full spectrum) - Optolong UHC - Rokinon 35mm t1.5 - ISO 3200 - 13 seconds x 4 shot pano with low level light
