The Famous Honking Tree.
Appreciating and being grateful to the past, present, & future generations of all Native Nations & Indigenous Peoples, whole ancestral lands we explore, visit and play. Please always impose a LEAVE NO TRACE ethic on your exploration, adventures, & expeditions. Follow local regulations. Love the only planet we have. Please do not trash her. Now, the latest unfortunate trend has been for people dumping the RV waste tanks any place they wish. That's just wrong!

Really unique perspective. It is framed very uniquely through those natural lines. The details in the tree is really fabulous! Voted Image of the month!

I looked at this quick and thought I was looking down on a sprig of parsley on top of an oddly textured tablecloth or something - very cool! Love when a picture can do that! Nice shot!!

Location
Near Mississippi River Head water, In Lake Itasca, Minnesota, USA.Time
It was taken right about sunset with diffused lighting! When the farmer already cut off the Hay Bales. So I captured also the lines of hay bales.Lighting
Diffuse lighting I had it in this photo. So with the diffused lighting there is more saturation with the Honking Tree. and with the newly harvest hay bales it was somewhat turning into a little pale. It was a smooth light.Equipment
This is my DJI Phantom Pro 4 plus. With a focal length of 11, ISO of 400, shutter 1/100. Nature gave me a wonderful light so the result was awesome.Inspiration
This tree is the oldest tree in the vicinity, and in my first time to capture this tree, the owner came up from the woods and was asking me what I was doing. So I answered her, "I couldn't resist the beauty of your tree!" So I decided to document it. Then she pointed me her house and said I can visit her. That was the time the we became friends. Then she told me that the aunt's ashes were spread around the tree because before she died she asked the family to spread her ashes there. Then their beloved dog's ashes were spread also around in the same tree...the Honking Tree. So by then every time they pass by the tree they "honk" just to tell the aunt and the dog "We Love and always remember you both!"Editing
I adjusted the saturation a little, and added a little of contrast and sharpen a little. In my camera bag
I have my regular Canon camera 5Ds with canon lens 16-35mm lens and the DJI phantom Pro 4 plus.Feedback
First you need to know the rules in flying your drones because there are certain restricted area like state parks and National Parks and of course if you are licensed Pilot you know these rules but if your are not a licensed Pilot you need to google the area where you want to fly your drone. Then you need to know that anywhere in the US if you are a licensed Pilot you can just fly until no more than 400ft. If you are not a licensed Pilot then you will fly lower than what is allowed. Write your plan ahead of time and your target, so you know what to do. Trees or lone tree is really good at eagle's view like this image. Preparation is the key and you are good to go!
