A shot of the fireworks competition, over the weekend.. Canada was the last country to compete out of three countries, Canada, UK and Japan, the even had more competitors in the past... I also shot the moon earlier on the same night, the moon was that color due to the wild fires here in BC...

This photo was taken at Crab Park,North Vancouver.. There's no crabs in Crab Park.. The park features a beautiful unobstructed across the Burrard Inlet a view of Downtown Vancouver,Coal Harbour,False Creek and the famous Stanley Park.Time
The photo was taken at 9:00pm when the fireworks were starting..I remember walking downbto the park with my wife thinking, I should've got there sooner... Sure enough, about 50 photographers had taken almost all the good spots, but I managed to find a great spot on the hill which actually gave me a much better shot.Lighting
That shot was taken during the time when we had forest fires raging here in BC. The shot was taken at night of course, but I really had to play around with the settings to capture the color of the moon in the photo which was a result of the fired and haze...Equipment
I love this question...Photography is in my opinion is 60% opportunity, 30% skill and 20% equipment. I shot this photo with a Nikon D200 and a Nikon 55-200mm VR lens and a brand new manfroto tripod I got at a thrift store for $24.00Inspiration
The Vancouver Skyline is beautiful and famous even without the fireworks..But having the skyline as a backdrop for fireworks is just awesome and a shot no photographer could pass upEditing
I work in lightroom and photoshop of course, but I don't like to over edit or over process my images too much, but with this image I really wanted to make the colors vivid and stand out,so yes just a wee bit of post processing and maybe a little filtering to boot..In my camera bag
Currently,I have a NikonD200 body, Sigma 70-200mm Nikon18-55mmVR Nikon 55-200mm Chinese 420mm-800mm manual lens and gadget for doing time lapse photography. I am adding the Nikon D850 body to my bag and new lens.Feedback
Patience and timing... Good things come to those who wait and that goes for photography as well..
