Location
This picture was taken on Helgoland, Germany in december 2015. This time of the year grey seals give birth on the small Island of Düne next to Helgoland. You can find lots of grey seals, males, females and pups on the beach. Be aware to keep distance.Time
The shot was taken in the morning on an overcast day. I got lucky, some sun beams pierced through the clouds.Lighting
I had to wait for some sun beams peeping through the clouds. With a low point of view and a fit aperture the young seal stood out of the background.Equipment
Camera canon 7D mkII, canon 400mm, f5,6 with canon teleconverter 1.4Inspiration
The playfull young seal caught my attention as it was moving about. The mother was lying next to the pup so you had to wait for the right moment.Editing
Some post-processing on white balance and clarity. In my camera bag

Keep low on point of view and be patient. Be aware not to disturb or come to close.
