I am basically a salt water paddler and sailor, so this little lake on Vancouver island is fresh territory for me. The canoe glides along close to shore with barely a ripple. The boy and i gaze into this secret world in wonder. The trees, the logs reflect into the water lilies that reach up to the surface from the dark water. "Fish?"says the boy.
